Content Strategy
10+ years developing multi-channel content strategies.
Some of my best work involves taking one core idea and adapting it across multiple touchpoints. Here are some ways I’ve brought cohesion to complexity.
Know Yourself, Know Your Money, best-selling book by Rachel Cruze
Results: The book made the Wall Street Journal Best Seller list, and promotional content ranked on page one of Google for approximately 500 keywords.
Contributed to the core content development during the pre-writing phase
Researched personal finance, personality traits, and psychology, and developed extensive briefing notes to inform the manuscript
Built content silos around key themes from the book and executed an SEO-driven marketing strategy ahead of launch to establish organic authority in the space
Weekly Meal Planner and Grocery Savings Guide, lead magnet and campaign created for The Rachel Cruze Show
Results: Currently ranking for 550+ keywords on page 1. Over 24k sessions to the landing page and nearly 13k email addresses were collected in the first month.
Because saving money on groceries was a clear pain point for Rachel’s audience, I developed this lead magnet as a practical, high-interest entry point
Led campaign strategy and execution, including keyword research, brand voice alignment, customer journey positioning, and ongoing performance analysis
Wrote the landing page copy and edited the guide content
Users accessed the guide after email submission and spent an average of 3:52 on each page
The Best Retirement Party Games, written for Beacon Capital Management
Results: Currently ranks on page one for 20 keywords and drives more non-branded organic traffic than any other page on the site.
I owned all aspects of creating this article, including keyword research, writing, creating graphics, publishing, and continual monitoring of results
After seeing success with this written content, we created an episode of our YouTube show, Retirement Talk, to embed within the article
Since adding the video, organic keywords have doubled; Beacon continues to see this piece perform in bringing people into their top-of-funnel
This article is one of many page-one ranking wins that contributed to a broader strategy which, in its first year, drove:
5x growth in organic traffic
3x growth in page-one keyword rankings
60% growth in domain authority
Aldi vs. Walmart: Which Is Cheaper? written for Rachel Cruze
Results: Currently ranking for 1,500 total keywords.
Audience research revealed strong affinity for Aldi, which I used to inform keyword strategy
Led the article from concept to publication, including keyword research, writing, original photography, publishing, and ongoing results monitoring
I later repurposed this content into an episode of The Rachel Cruze Show, extending its value across channels
Retirement Talk, YouTube series for Beacon Capital Management
Results: 1k+ subscribers and 58k views within first year.
Across more than 75 episodes, I led content strategy, developed talking points, and produced each shoot
I also wrote integrated calls to action tailored to each episode
Each video was distributed across multiple channels, including email, social, and embedded article placements on BeaconCM.com
Nashville Family Photos content strategy
Results: Achieved page-one rankings for nearly every variation of “Nashville family photographer,” often in the top spot, and earned 30+ SERP features.
As the owner, I developed and executed an SEO strategy focused on high-intent local search queries
Maintained a perfect 5-star rating on Google Business Profile
Provided all photography, copy, and publishing for the site
